Five-time Tour de France winner Eddy Merckx and the guys in front of the shop in Sacramento

The Bicycle Business is a local bike shop in Sacramento, California. You can find us at the corner of Freeport and Perkins, directly across from McClatchy High School, if you happen to be in the area. We've been in business at our brick-and-mortar store since 1972.

Our mission is simple: to work in an industry we love and help to enrich the experience of others so that they may enjoy cycling as much as we do. To that end, we treat folks the way we'd like to be treated and strive to deliver the best customer service at the most competitive price possible.

Sales and service staff are comprised of experienced professionals who are passionate about bicycles. Away from work many of us race cyclocross, track or road bikes, and a couple even depend on bicycles as a sole means of transportation. We love to talk shop and will always give you an honest opinion, so don’t hesitate to call or stop by.

The shop’s focus and staff expertise cover the spectrum, from commute, touring, trekking and randonneuring to fixed gear, cyclocross, road and mountain biking. Whether you're a novice or professional, you'll feel at home in our shop. We carry bicycles by Felt, Fuji, Bianchi, Surly, Linus, SE and Breezer. Stock bicycles start in the neighborhood of $300 and go up to as much as $8,000. We also stock framesets by Pake, Euro-Asia and Bianchi that can be custom built up to your specifications.

We carry parts and accessories to boot! In fact, we fancy ourselves a niche of sorts for the hard-to-find, classic, unique—even eccentric. Looking for Campy parts? We can certainly order what you need and may even have it instock. If we don’t have it and can’t find it, our service folks has even been known to fabricate from scratch now and then.

When they're not fabricating parts, our mechanics are performing safety checks, tune-ups and repairs, installing and adjusting components and accessories, fixing flat tires, building stock and custom bicycles, or building and truing custom wheels. Do you have a bike that’s been sitting around collecting dust? Or has it developed an unusual noise while you’re riding? If you’re in the Sacramento area, pedal on by the shop so we can give it quick once-over. We’ll let you know what it needs to keep you riding on.
